Piston Regulator reviewsPiston first stage regulators generally deliver a higher flow rate to the second stage than diaphragm regulators, and has only one moving part. Because of this you can find them in both entry level models (Less part makes them cheaper to manufacture) and on high performance models (due to the high performance and flow rate). Piston regulators where not generally considered for cold water diving, however  due advances in material coatings, special isolation techniques and environmental sealing they are now becoming more popular in low temperature waters. Below are a few regulator that I reviewed which uses a Piston first stage.
